What does a website cost in Switzerland?

Anywhere between a few hundred and over ten thousand francs. Here’s what it depends on, with market figures from public analyses and the links to them.

Price ranges in Switzerland

01The ranges

Why the figures are so far apart.

digitalawards.ch · May 2026

CHF 2'900median starting price, based on 60 public starting prices for websites, researched in 312 agency profiles.

infiniWEB · September 2026

CHF 1'920Median for a website of around five pages, across 28 providers with public prices. A one-pager: around 890; nine to ten pages: around 3'000.

loaded.ch · October 2026

CHF 1'000–3'000for a one-pager, according to the guide of the agency loaded.ch.

Which providers are counted shifts the value: mini offers push it down, large corporate, shop and platform projects push it up. Providers without public prices are missing from the analyses altogether.

02What the price depends on

Six things make the difference.

Scope

One page or ten: every subpage needs structure, copy and images.

Copy

Do you write it yourself, or does the web designer? Good copy is a big part of the work.

Images

Your own photos of the business, bought images or imagery created specially for you.

Features

Contact form, calculator, booking or shop: every feature is work.

Design

A template with your logo, or a design created specifically for your company.

Languages

Every additional language means translating the copy and checking every page a second time.

03Running costs

What comes on top after launch.

A

Domain, hosting, maintenance

You pay for the website itself once. Then there are small running costs: the address (domain), the storage space (hosting) and, if you want, a maintenance plan for changes and upkeep.

If the plan ends, all files are handed over to you. About maintenance.

Running costs guide values

  • Domain (.ch)around CHF 10–15 per year
  • Hostingfree to around CHF 20 per month
  • Care and maintenance (market)around CHF 30–150 per month
  • Maintenance with meCHF 25–50 per month

The domain is always in your name. Without a plan you pay the hosting provider directly; with a plan, hosting is included.

Domain and hosting: guide values from the price lists of common providers (cyon, Hoststar, Infomaniak, Cloudflare). Care and maintenance: infiniWEB market research, September 2026.

04Doing it yourself

What a website builder costs.

A

DIY builder or having it built

With a website builder you build the site yourself and pay a subscription, with hosting included. What you put in is mainly time.

That suits you if you enjoy designing yourself and a simple site is enough. If you’d rather hand the work over, you pay once for the website and then the running costs from the section above.

Website builders per month, billed yearly

  • Infomaniak Site Creator LiteCHF 3.90 + VAT
  • Hostpoint Sites BasicCHF 9 incl. VAT
  • Wix LightEUR 14 + VAT
  • Squarespace BasicCHF 15 + VAT
  • Jimdo StartCHF 24 incl. VAT
  • Structure, copy, imagesyou do yourself

The domain is included at the start with Infomaniak, Wix, Squarespace and Jimdo; with Hostpoint it costs extra. With most of them, paying monthly costs more.

Official pricing pages of the providers, accessed on 21.10.2026. Infomaniak: promotional price of CHF 3.15 for the first 12 months. Wix shows its Swiss prices in euros.

05Before you sign

Five questions for every quote.

  1. A fixed price, in writing

Does the quote state a fixed amount or just an estimate? And what is included: copy, images, rounds of revisions?

  2. When you pay

Some providers ask for half up front. Ask when each amount is due and what you will have seen by then.

  3. Who owns the domain

If it’s in your name, you can switch at any time without losing the address. Also ask how the hosting is handed over if you part ways.

  4. What changes cost afterwards

Ask about the price per change and what exactly a plan includes.

  5. Who writes the copy

Some cheap packages assume you supply all the copy yourself.

07Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Your question isn’t here? Message me on WhatsApp, in English.

Why are there websites for a few hundred francs?

Often there’s a website builder or a template behind it. With very cheap offers, ask who writes the copy. That may be enough. A website designed and written specifically for your company takes more work.

Do I have to pay anything before I see something?

No. You see the finished homepage before you pay anything. Nothing is binding until you sign.

What does the Google Business Profile cost?

Google doesn’t charge for the profile itself. I offer the setup together with a new website. More about the Google profile.

What does a change cost once the website is finished?

The plan includes up to two small changes per month. Without a plan, a small change costs CHF 30; the first three after your site launches are free. About maintenance.
