01
The solar calculator
Visitors type in their address, select their roof and consumption, and see roughly what their roof can generate and save. Map and roof data come from the federal government’s open services (swisstopo, SFOE).
BYM Solar: redesign of a solar website in Bern.
bymsolar.ch already existed. I rebuilt the website at the same address: solar calculator, project pages and guide were rebuilt, and pages for customers in other cantons were added.
- Client
- BYM Solar GmbH, Bern
- Division
- Photovoltaics, storage, charging stations
- Service
- Redesign: design and build
- Address
- bymsolar.ch
01What’s inside
Built for customers’ questions.
02
One page per completed project
Four projects each have their own page with photos and key data, such as the in-roof installation in Liebefeld. That way prospects see a real example before they call.
03
A guide with sources
There’s an article each on costs, storage, wallbox and cleaning. The figures come from, among others, the federal government, the Canton of Bern and energy suppliers; the sources are listed at the end.
04
Pages for other cantons
BYM also installs outside Bern. For Solothurn, Fribourg, Aargau, Lucerne, Zurich and Basel there’s a page each with what applies there: permits, subsidies, grid operator.
The switch
The old site stayed online until the new one was ready.
The new website waited as a preview at its own address. Once everything was ready, we switched over: bymsolar.ch stayed bymsolar.ch.
