Marketing plan: what pays off – and what doesn’t.

A plan for next year: which activities pay off, when they are due and what they cost. Plus a list of what you can skip. In the larger package I also research the market and competition in your region.

Structure of a marketing plan · content written fresh for each business

01The problem

Advertising by gut feeling costs money.

A

An ad here, a flyer there

Without a plan, nobody knows which of it brings enquiries. The money is spent, and next year it all starts again.

Advertising last year Enquiries from it

  • Ad in the local paper?
  • Flyers handed out?
  • Social media ads?
  • Directory listing?

Without a plan, the right-hand column stays empty: nobody knows what paid off.

An example of how it goes for many businesses.

B

Missing the right moment

Many industries have a peak season. With air conditioning, for example, most searches happen in early summer. If you only plan your advertising then, you’re too late.

The solution

Hence a plan for the whole year.

With timing and cost for every activity, and an honest view of what is realistic.

02What’s inside

What’s in the plan.

Starting point and goals

Where your business stands today and what it wants to achieve next year.

Market and competition

Who offers the same in your region and how visible they are on Google.

Activities by month

What happens when, aligned with your peak season.

Costs per activity

So you know in advance what the year will cost.

What you can skip

A list of things that do little for you.

Customer care

Reviews, referrals and existing customers, in line with Google’s guidelines. Where it gets legally tricky, for example with advertising emails, I tell you.

Who does what

What you do yourself, what I take on, what someone else does.

On one page

The short version to pin up, so the plan doesn’t end up in a drawer.

03Pricing

What it costs – at a fixed price.

We agree the binding fixed price after a short exchange. The activities themselves are not included; whatever I take on is listed in the plan with its price. As a micro-business I am exempt from VAT.

04Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Your question isn’t here? Message me on WhatsApp, in English.

Do you also carry out the activities?

Those that are part of my services: website, logo and print design, and together with a new website also the Google profile. For everything else, the plan says who does it.

Do you promise more customers?

No. The plan shows which activities make sense for you and what they cost. What comes of it, nobody can guarantee.

What do you need from me?

A written exchange about your goals, your customers and your budget. It also helps to know what advertising you have done so far.

Is the plan only for big companies?

No. Small businesses on a tight budget in particular benefit when they know what they can leave out.
